What I remember of when my first daughter was born in 2017. The moment they laid her on my chest, time stopped. Being alone with her, still, examining her face; she was so small, so helpless, and so beautiful. Recalling what we were wearing, who our nurse was, or what my mother was doing in this moment. Those moments came and went, and what is left of them will always stay the same. That is why film is so important; it brings more depth to an experience. You’re able to watch a full film and have more expressions to remember. What I would give to expand those first few hours with my little love.
Searching for the passion that would fuel my life, I never thought would be me reminiscing about those moments that feel like I missed so much of. Don’t think for a second that there wasn't a video camera present! One of my life's greatest desires fulfilled would be to go back and film every single detail of her first hours on earth. As she grew, there was always a camera on her. It was preparing me for my career; I just knew I loved to do it and did it often.
Luckily for Laura and Ryan they will remember the way their 18-month-old daughter looked at their newborn son and said “baby” as she smiled at her new brother. Brittany and Raymond will remember the way the light shined as their family gathered on the bed to inspect “baby brother’s” wrinkly hands. Kristina and Farris will remember exactly how their puppies would watched as she nursed their son in their master bedroom. They will have these moments filmed to watch over and over for their lifetimes and for the legacy they will leave behind.
